The Studio

A practice built on restraint.

ArShe Design Studio was founded in 2014 around a simple conviction: a well-designed space should feel inevitable, never decorated.

Our Philosophy

Design the emptiness first.

We take our cue from Japanese ma — the deliberate void that gives everything around it meaning. Rooms are planned as sequences, materials are limited to a small honest family, and light is treated as the primary finish.

What follows is craft: full-scale mock-ups, shadow gaps instead of trims, joinery drawn to grain direction, and weekly supervision until the last detail matches the drawing.

Meet the Founder

Arjun Shetty

Trained in architecture in Bengaluru and Kyoto, Arjun founded ArShe after a decade working between large-format architecture and small-scale joinery workshops — an unusual pairing that still shapes how the studio draws.

“I am interested in the moment a room goes quiet,” he says. “That is usually when the proportions are right and nothing unnecessary is left in it.”
